Dear Gardener
I feel it is time to get ready for Spring. It is mid February and I want to plan. Although I was going to start my gardening career with growing cress I have decided to aim a bit higher.
I thought I should start with carrots. Outside. When is a good time to plant them? And should I sow the seeds first inside. You mentioned it was a good time to plant a tree too. I thought one planted trees in October. You have assured me it is still a good time to put in the odd shrub or tree. So by the end of February I hope to have completed planting a tree or a bush.
Today is the 12th of February and it is Shrove Tuesday. I am making pancakes for 8 ten year olds. My aga has broken so the pre party atmosphere is not good. Tommorrow its Ash Wednesday..time to give up something. Perhaps I will plant an Ash tree to mark the occasion. When I was at school we did a tree project and my tree was the Ash. Two reasons now to plant an Ash: decision made...if you approve.
Yours
